GoToMeeting uses a 'helper' application to launch you into active sessions. This application is known as the GoTo Opener app. When you install the GoToMeeting software, this app is automatically installed on your computer as well. We are finishing up things on the new Mac 64 bit version of GoToAssist Remote Support and plan to release it early next week. Here is what you need to know: If you use a Mac to support your customers, do not update to Catalina until you have updated to the Remote Support release or you will not be able to use the technician software. Right-click the GoToAssist Expert icon in your system tray (Windows), or open the GoToAssist Expert desktop application then click GoToAssist Expert from the Apple Menu bar (Mac). Select Check for Update. Note: If the 'Check for Update' option is grayed out, it means you have a new session window open or that you are actively connected in a. The web browser will automatically start the GoToAssist Opener app, which will then launch the GoToAssist Expert desktop application (or install it again, if needed). Continue to instructions for each web browser, then on to Step #4 to complete the download and installation steps.
How it's installed
For the large majority of our customers, the GoTo Opener automatically installs and updates itself when you join sessions using GoToMeeting.
When the download finishes, click GoTo Opener.dmg at the bottom of the page to open the file (customers may need to refresh the page and/or click download & run GoToAssist Corporate to re-start the download). In the downloads folder, the GoTo Opener application will then be downloaded from the GoTo Opener.dmg file. Once you have done that go back to your Dashboard page (up.gotoassist.com) and Start a support session to trigger the download and install the new Expert version on your Mac running Catalina. If you haven't upgraded your Mac to Catalina yet you can also just exit the App and launch it agin to trigger the update.

If the app taking a long time to download through the normal flow (or if you are encountering download or join issues), you can try these troubleshooting steps.

When a GoToAssist Corporate customer joins a standard support session , the GoToAssist Corporate Customer installation package (including the GoTo Opener application) will be downloaded onto their computer. By leaving the GoTo Opener application installed, customers will be able to join future support sessions more quickly by avoiding the extended download process.

Note: If you remove the GoTo Opener application at a later time, you'll need to go through the entire download process again. We don’t recommend that you do this if you frequently join support sessions, as you will lose the benefit of faster join times.
Run GoToAssist Corporate once installed

When these customers join a support session next, they will be prompted with additional dialogs from the web browser requesting permission to start the GoTo Opener and/or GoToAssist Corporate Customer applications on the customer's behalf.
